Treatments reported for FATWO.
There is no standard treatment for FATWO, and no clinical trials. This page gathers every medicine and treatment that the papers in our library report being used, and what the authors said happened. It's a record of what has been tried, not a recommendation.

Please read firstWhat this page can and can't tell you
This is not medical advice. Every case is different. Please talk to your own cancer team about any treatment.
Most reports describe one woman. A medicine that seemed to help one person may not help another, and one that didn't help may still help someone else.
Women often had several treatments. "How it went" describes what the authors reported for that woman, which may cover more than one treatment.
We leave out survival figures, as on the rest of this site. Some tumours once reported as FATWO are now thought to be a separate tumour, the STK11 adnexal tumour; they are included here and labelled in each summary.
The page grows automatically as summaries are added to the library and approved. It only includes papers with a checked plain-English summary.
What the papers report for each medicine
No medicine has been proven to work for FATWO. There have never been clinical trials, because there are too few patients. What we have is what doctors wrote about individual women. Below is what they reported each time a medicine was used. It is a record of experience, not a success rate.

How to read this. "Didn't work" means the tumour kept growing, or the authors said the medicine didn't work. *"No return seen afterwards" means it was given after surgery had removed all visible tumour, and the tumour hadn't come back by the end of the report. That doesn't prove the medicine prevented it. Many women had several medicines, so each one is counted separately. Counted 26 October 2026, from checked summaries in our library. Each medicine below lists the women and papers.
